From 1980 to 1999, Mr. Ferrara was president and co-owner of Nelson-Hall Publishers, primarily a social and behavioral science college textbook publishing company. Following the sale of the Nelson-Hall college division, Mr. Ferrara and his partner, Libby Rubenstein, founded Marsh Publications. An active supporter of the book publishing industry, Mr. Ferrara was a two-term president of the Chicago Book Clinic. He taught the course "Business and Financial Aspects of Publishing" for a number of years through extension programs at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. Mr. Ferrara is listed in the forty-ninth edition of Who's Who in America.
In 1988, Ms. Rubenstein joined the editorial staff of what is now Irwin/McGraw-Hill as a development editor in the management discipline, a position she held for ten years. After a two-year tenure as senior editor at Nelson-Hall Publishers, where she "signed" numerous prominent authors, Ms. Rubenstein joined Mr. Ferrara in founding Marsh Publications. Educational publishing, particularly in the business disciplines, is Ms. Rubenstein's passion. Her vision, combined with Mr. Ferrara's many years of experience and love of book publishing, was the impetus for Marsh Publications, the company that the founders are working to make the premier MBA-level textbook publisher. |
